Guidelines: Please read.

Respect
Respect is our watch word. That's the foundation upon which we base all that we do here. We expect our guests to adhere to a civilized code of conduct without exception, and we will restrict or ban any individual who wilfully flouts it, mortal and immortal alike.

Respect the beliefs and personal boundaries of others, no matter how frivolous the topic. Intolerance, aggression and disagreements of a personal nature don’t belong here and will be subject to stricture or banning.

There is no absolute right or wrong. Each opinion is as valid as the next, so long as it does not trespass on the bounds of decorum or the rules that guide us all. A view point may still be valid even if you don't agree with it and in some cases especially if you don’t agree with it. In other words, just be polite and don't flame.

Candor
We don't believe in censorship or a forbidding environment. You’ll find no such restrictions here, but only as long as the guidelines are followed. Just because we don’t have an outright ban on profanity doesn’t mean you should use it. If we deem your attitude to be deliberately incendiary or insulting in nature, you just might find your posts deleted and yourself banned.

We welcome opinions and suggestions. Feel at home. Self-expression is encouraged and we adore creativity. This is an independent and original site and we hope you will ornament and contribute to it freely.

Please present yourself clearly so we might all enjoy what you say and understand you sufficiently to frame a reply. We don't correct spelling mistakes or grammar, and we are here not to judge, but make it easy on us. You might well be conversant with more than one language, but everyone is presumed to speak English here, so don't go excluding others by slipping into another tongue, as charming as your tongue might be.

We consider it the gravest breach of our trust for anyone to use our community for the sly gain of another. Do not advertise any forums of a similar nature to Sublime Requiem here or to our membership, and this includes using our member listing or the private messaging system we provide. Don’t make us bite.

Expectations
We have absolutely nothing to prove, one way or another. If you are trying to prove anything then you took a wrong turn at Metaphysics.

Your eccentric hosts all have immortal names, particularly those vampires named in The Vampire Chronicles. (Whoever you claim to be is your own affair.) If this prompts you to question our identity ignore the urge. We're not going to enter into any discussion about anything so irrelevant and it’s no-one’s business but our own. This is not about belief, it is about community. We will accept you for who you are quite aside from any expectations raised by what you call yourself and we expect exactly the same. That said, you might not take an immortal name or a name associated with one. One set of vampires is quite enough for anyone.

We’re fascinated by you. We invite open discussion and informal or meaningful exchange but don't mistake fond conversation for enduring love or other similar promises. There are none to give. Talk to us if it pleases you, but not with any expectation of blossoming romance or promises of immortality. It’s not going to happen so don't ask.

Accept that we merely wish to talk with you, and there is nothing else to be had, no hidden agenda or grand conspiracy or discussion on the reality of what you see. In this vein, we will not participate in any discussion about calling you or meeting with you. We will do exactly neither at any time, so just don't ask us. For that matter, don't divulge your personal details to anyone on the Internet. Always take care of your online safety.

Restrictions
You must be aged 16 or over to join our general forums. Anyone who does not conform to our age restrictions, or who misleads us thereon will be summarily banned. We take a responsible attitude to our content, but you have fair and clear warning that a site devoted to the interests of vampires is not in its nature child-friendly. So don’t join then complain about the blood stains.

There is, in addition, a forum restricted to the use of those aged 18 and over, in which more adult themes may be pursued with few reservations, though we will not engage in exploring your personal fantasies about us with you.

We fully understand that some issues which might be raised are of a sensitive nature. We will treat all such issues with sympathy but it can come as no surprise that we are not qualified counsellors or the answer to all your problems. We can allow no talk of self-harming for this reason. If we are concerned for your safety we will contact your ISP or suitable authorities.

Necessary Legalities:
We own the thoughts and the images - perhaps the odd soul- unless accredited elsewhere. All else we sign away in a spirit of absolute acquiescence to the mortal laws in governance. Hence, the names you read here belong to Anne Rice, Random House and all affiliated publishing houses. We don’t make money through this enterprise- not even Armand. We all have our own differing reasons for being here, but none involves material gain.
